The Dream Within the Clouds is a performance created not only for children but also for their life companions.
Beneath the surface of a fairy-tale story, it touches on deeper themes: the contrast between small personal stories and “great history;” the difference between true adventure and enchanting virtual drama, and the (in)dispensability of real experiences and human connection. All this is told through aerial and ground acrobatics, physical theatre, and clowning.
Imagine living with a handful of strange little creatures – maybe they’re people, or maybe not – in a small, self-contained group; perhaps a family, wandering through a mysterious and not exactly welcoming landscape. Maybe it’s a desert.
But perhaps you don’t even realise it because the only thing that matters is that you follow your own rules – rules as bold as your family itself – and that everything you need, you carry with you.
You’re nomads. Wanderers. Voluntary outcasts.
Some bearded scientist might say: “You form a small community; fragile and cut off from the outside world, building your own ideas about it.”
But what makes you live this way? Is the outside world truly dangerous? Or is it all just a game?
Then something unexpected happens: a stranger appears in your once-familiar world.
How will you cope? What lies ahead? Fear – or a marvellous adventure? And above all – who is the stranger?
